Our Story
The Economics Excellence Association (EEA) was born from a simple but powerful observation: in many academic spaces, students struggle to engage confidently with real-world economic issues. The idea first sparked during a financial economics lecture in 2022, when students were asked to weigh in on current events affecting financial systems and markets. The room fell silent.
Was it fear of being wrong? A lack of confidence? Or just uncertainty about how to express thoughts academically in an economic context? Whatever the reason, it revealed a deeper issue: a gap between theoretical learning and practical understanding.
This moment planted the seed for EEA.
Although the idea remained dormant for some time, it came to life in 2024 during the founder’s third year of study, driven by the belief that economics students deserve more than just lectures and exams. They need a space to engage, express, question, and apply their knowledge to the world around them.
EEA was officially formed to bridge this gap. It is a platform designed to sharpen critical thinking, encourage academic discourse, and empower students to confidently navigate and contribute to real economic conversations. Through workshops, debates, tutoring, networking, and community-building initiatives, EEA creates opportunities for excellence far beyond the classroom.
We believe every student has a voice worth hearing, and EEA is here to help them find it, strengthen it, and use it to shape a better economic future.
